Job Description
We are currently looking for a Chief Accountant to join the Ignitis accounting team in Warsaw, Poland. As a key member of our organization, you’ll be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day accounting activities and ensuring that accurate financial and management accounts are produced. You will contribute to green and secure energy ecosystem creation by:
- Monitoring changes in tax and accounting regulations and their implementation in the companies, ensuring compliance with accounting regulations and standards
- Managing all accounting processes by organizing and keeping 10 companies accounting records
- Supervising daily accounting operations, in particular bookkeeping, control of payments and invoices, and settlement of costs and revenues
- Preparing reports for the Group, including monthly results
- Maintaining close communication with external auditors and tax advisors, including preparing materials and participating in financial audits
- Advising the Management Board on financial and accounting issues and participating in strategic planning and decisions regarding investments and company development
- Managing the internal accounting team
- Identifying areas for improvement and implementing more effective accounting procedures, including the use of technology to automate processes
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics
- At least 5 years of experience as a Chief Accountant. Experience in the energy sector would be an additional advantage.
- Strong knowledge of tax and accounting regulations, with familiarity with international accounting standards (IFRS)
- Excellent leadership, team management, and communication skills, with the ability to negotiate and manage external relations
- Strong organizational skills, adaptability to change, and the ability to continuously improve and develop professionally
- Proficiency in both spoken and written English, as this role involves regular communication with international colleagues and partners
