StampTech Fasteners TM Division Description:

The ITW StampTech Fastener Division serves the major OEMs and Tier suppliers in the North American automotive market.  The division supplies stamped metal fasteners and engineered fastener assemblies that leverage our deep-draw stamping technologies.  The annual revenue for the division is approximately $160M.  Locations include Gallatin, TN, Lexington, KY & Naugatuck, CT.

Job Description

This position is responsible for performing routine and emergency repairs on building systems and equipment, including troubleshooting malfunctions, conducting preventative maintenance checks, and responding to repair requests, while adhering to safety regulations and maintaining accurate records of repairs and equipment condition; often requiring skills in plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and HVAC systems. keeping production equipment running at optimal levels, preventative maintenance, and special project work. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Understands, follows, and enforces all established safety, health, and Company policies, procedures, and recognized practices
  • Work from blueprints, schematics and shop orders
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair various machine and maintenance problems using available technology
  • Ability to troubleshoot equipment and building electrical systems
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair machines with rotating components
  • Operate drill press, grinder, welding and other maintenance equipment to fabricate or repair parts
  • Ability to troubleshoot / diagnose and working knowledge of programming of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC)
  • Perform troubleshooting on mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic powered, and electronically controlled equipment
  • Ability to use precision measuring equipment and electrical testing instruments associated with a manufacturing setting
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance functions per schedule
  • Ability to maintain computer-based machine repair and PM records system
  • All other duties as assigned by manager 

Qualifications

  • 5 years of maintenance in a manufacturing setting
  • Minimum two-year degree in Industrial Maintenance Technician or equivalent work experience and training
  • Mechanically inclined with great problem-solving skills
  • Ability to understand written and verbal instructions and communicate effectively with all levels of employees is required 
  • Must possess basic computer skills and various software systems (Microsoft Office) for logging and tracking results
  • Ability to plan, organize, and implement with attention to detail 
  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The employee could be exposed to extreme heat and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
  • Safety toed with slip resistant shoes, safety glasses and earplugs are required on the plant floor
