POSITION SUMMARY
You will be a key business partner to the VP/GM and driver of the division’s strategic intent.
You will be responsible for a wide range of functions including HR strategy, organization design and effectiveness, talent management/employee development, compensation, employee relations, HR policies and procedures, HR legal compliance, and organizational culture. You will ensure HR strategy aligns with ITW’s Enterprise strategy and the strategic plans and operational objectives of the division.
You will report to the Traulsen VP & GM and will be responsible for managing and coordinating all HR activities within the division. You will also have a dotted line reporting relationship to the FEG Segment HR Director
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
You will …
- participate in the strategic business processes of Long Range Planning and Annual Planning
- be a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of HR best practices
- work with a great deal of autonomy to make decisions and lead the people plan
- design and implement innovative approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in strategic objectives
- understand the talent system and each stage of the employee lifecycle to craft coordinated solutions that are thoughtful and reinforced by upstream and downstream talent programs
- champion a culture of diversity and inclusion and ensure work practices that adhere to company values
- lead strategic initiatives to drive cultural change throughout the system
- provides strategic consultancy to leadership to effectively utilize People as a business accelerator
- leverage the HR team for subject matter expertise and delivery of HR support for key strategic priorities
- contribute to a strong and connected HR leadership team to create and drive synergies
- boldly articulate a people perspective on issues, even if unpopular
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position is responsible for HR and EHS activities in the division which includes six employees
Qualifications
Education and Work Experience
- Requires a bachelor’s degree in a relevant business-related field.
- A minimum of 10 years progressive HR experience with 5+ years in HR leadership
- Experience in manufacturing or light assembly
- Experience in talent planning and management including talent assessment processes and succession planning
- Cross-cultural experience; able to manage and influence various diverse employee demographics
- Experience with creating and maintaining a proactive safety culture
Desired Education/Experience
- Master’s Degree preferred.
- Solid knowledge of hourly workforce and nonunion environments
- Revenue responsibility - >$250M
- Lean manufacturing understanding
Certificates and Licenses
PHR, SPHR or SHRM CP or SHRM SCP preferred

- Occasional exposure to factory and warehouse environments
- Requires traveling approximately < 10%
Hours of Work
- Monday – Friday, 8 hours per day with flex starting times
- Weekends as work demands may require
