Job Description

We are looking for an experienced accountant to join our team in Troy, Ohio.  This position reports directly to the Accounting Manager and will work directly with the members of Hobart Sales & Marketing accounting/finance team.  This role will prepare and record journal entries and account reconciliation.  The position will require frequent contact with both internal and external personnel that will require professionalism, courtesy and tact.  The position requires a highly organized individual capable of multitasking in a fast-paced environment.  They will be a self-starter capable of independent work and possess attention to detail, focusing on accuracy.

Job Responsibilities

  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of business and financial information in compliance with ITW policies and GAAP
  • Ensure that internal controls are documented and operating effectively in accordance with ITW policies
  • Facilitate and complete monthly close and consolidation procedures.
  • Assist in preparation and completion of internal and external audits as well as other corporate requests
  • Support Controller of Sales and leadership team to achieve division goals and objectives, including the annual operating plan, long range strategic plans, capital investments and other ad hoc projects
  • Understand and utilize the ITW toolbox in all aspects of the job including prioritizing work assignments and developing work processes
  • Rebates and commission monthly accruals
  • Understand terms and conditions of current selling contracts, work with sales leadership on renewals/new contracts, ensure contracts are returned in a timely manner and managed in a centralized repository
  • Support inventory with daily balancing along with physical inventory and researching system issues
  • Monthly reviews of budget to actual expenses, work with managers on variances
  • Review bad debt with credit team on quarterly basis

 

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in Accounting/Finance with 3-5 years related work experience
  • Strong understanding and application of accounting principles/practices
  • Must be proficient in MS Office Suite with highly advanced Excel skills including the ability to create and edit pivots, tables, charts, and graphs
  • Working knowledge of ERP systems
  • Demonstrated success in communicating financial information to non-finance personnel
  • Demonstrated success in data manipulation and providing clear reports that provide value-added information to end users.
  • Ability to review, evaluate and prioritizes tasks/project assignments, identifies key issues and escalate to management appropriately.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to manage team projects
  • Takes a systematic approach to evaluate alternatives, makes fact-based decisions and evaluates the consequences of decisions.
  • Must possess a strong willingness to learn and high-level of curiosity with the proven ability to self-teach.
  • Minimal travel required.

The base salary pay range for this position is noted below.  The specific pay rate upon hire will depend on a combination of work location and the successful candidate’s qualifications and prior experience

$64,800 - $92,300 per hour
