Summary: This payroll position is part of a two person team and is responsible for processing semi-monthly payroll for 350 employees, and numerous independent consultants, using Paychex. This person is to ensure that payments are accurate and that proper accounting procedures are followed in the payroll process. This position works closely with the current Payroll Specialist.
Duties:
- Prepare semi-monthly payroll
- Prepare/review payroll tax payments and reporting
- Account reconciliation to GL for payroll related accounts
- Maintain and configure Costpoint Payroll module, Time & Expense
- Other duties as assigned

Accounting professional with three plus years of experience in payroll in the government contracts industry. Solid experience using Deltek Costpoint and Time, and Paychex payroll service. Experience and use of PLCs in billing and reporting. Thorough knowledge of federal and State(s) payroll tax law and regulations. Prior experience with set up of SUI and withholding accounts in new States a plus. Multi state tax experience a plus. Well versed in managing payroll withholding related to a variety of company benefits. Able to respond effectively to notices from tax authorities. Hands on knowledge of Sales Force product a plus.

- Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting, with 3+ years of experience, or equivalent
- Thorough knowledge of government contracts environment
- Hands-on experience in all modules of Deltek Costpoint, Deltek T&E
- Paychex experience preferred
- Collaborative interpersonal skills; willingness and ability to be part of a team
- Attention to detail
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in written form
- Strong proficiency in MS Office especially Excel and other technology systems
