Responsibilities
An opportunity has arisen for a candidate to join the risk team in IQ-EQ Fund Management (Ireland) Limited. This individual will oversee risk and restrictions on all liquid portfolios (equities, bonds, ETFs, derivatives, etc.) and will be responsible for the risk oversight of the portfolios and portfolio managers.
This is a unique role to support the business and cover a range of risk disciplines.
Tasks
- Assist with the management of active investment risk in portfolios against stipulated benchmarks. This involves working with asset managers to ensure the consistent and accurate implementation of investment views against these benchmarks.
- Development, implementation, and monitoring of regulatory and mandate specific rules within the IQ-EQ investment process to monitor and ensure funds operate and remain within their documented guidelines, regulatory requirements and best practice.
- Drafting and providing input to formal risk reports across multiple asset classes for presentation to management and the wider Asset Management area.
- The provision and implementation of appropriate risk metrics in respect of different investment products.
- On-going liaison with the Asset Management team, Investment Partners team and client facing teams, on all aspects of risk management.
- Provide flexibility in engaging with new and varied projects within IQ-EQ as the company grows and evolves.
- Continuing maintenance and evolution of risk management reporting processes built around an end user computing system based on MS SQL Server and MS Excel.
Qualifications
Required Experience:
- Degree or Masters level in a business, financial or numerical related discipline.
- Several years’ experience in the Funds/Investment Management industry preferred however we would consider a recent graduate.
- High level of competency in mathematical and statistical techniques and systems with excellent problem solving abilities.
- The ability to interpret numerical and statistical information and to communicate this to a varied audience.
- Technical abilities with Excel, SQL Server or other programming environments or a strong desire to improve these skills.
- Work experience that displays a track record of accuracy, attention to detail, a high level of competence and the ability to excel under pressure and tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
