SPS Material & Welding Engineer - Malaysia

Company Description

The service holder will be in charge of all the Material / Welding and NDE aspects of the SPS package ie covering activities from design, qualification, supply, manufacturing, and construction to pre-com. / commissioning for operation. 
It shall ensure services with overall consistency with good industry practices and respect for code / technical standards requirements.

This will include but not be limited to and be reviewing, approving and dossiers Call For Tender and EPFS phases for the SPS system for a very deep water oil greenfield project

Job Description

  • Lead Materials, Welding & NDE activities for the SPS package from engineering through commissioning.
  • Review and approve contractor engineering, fabrication, welding, NDE and QA/QC documentation.
  • Manage welding, materials and NDE studies, qualifications and technical queries.
  • Support CFT preparation, bidder evaluation and contractor technical management.
  • Provide expertise on F22/8630/A77, buttered connections, weld overlay and super duplex welding, including large-bore applications.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable TotalEnergies specifications, international codes, standards and H3SE requirements.
  • Coordinate technical interfaces between engineering, fabrication, construction and suppliers.
  • Conduct/support technical audits, equipment/service-provider qualification and project reviews.
  • Act as the technical focal point for Materials, Welding & NDE matters within the SPS team.
  • Promote safe working practices and maintain high standards of technical integrity and quality.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum 15 years’ experience in offshore oil & gas projects.
  • Minimum 15 years’ experience with subsea/SPS projects.
  • Strong Materials, Welding & NDE engineering experience in offshore/subsea applications.
  • Proven experience with F22/8630/A77, buttered connections, weld overlay and super duplex welding.
  • Good knowledge of relevant international codes, standards and industry practices.
  • Knowledge of TotalEnergies specifications and procedures is an advantage.
  • Strong H3SE awareness and commitment to safe working practices.
  • Excellent English communication and technical writing skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary and multicultural environment.
  • Willingness to travel internationally as required.
