Job Description
- Provide day-to-day technical support for piping and valve activities on site.
- Review and interpret P&IDs, isometrics, valve datasheets, material specifications, piping layouts and 3D model extracts.
- Manage and respond to Contractor Technical Queries, Deviation Requests, Concession Requests and site clarifications.
- Coordinate with home-office engineering to resolve design discrepancies and information gaps.
- Support piping and valve installation, welding, testing, flushing and reinstatement activities.
- Review ITPs, WPS/PQRs, erection plans and test packs.
- Participate in piping and valve inspections, including weld/NDE checks and material conformity verification.
- Monitor the handling, preservation and installation of manual, actuated, control and cryogenic valves.
- Support pre-commissioning and commissioning activities, including hydrotesting, pneumatic testing, cleaning, drying and leak testing.
- Verify test pack completeness, punch-list closure and discipline walkdowns.
- Follow up on as-built mark-ups, mechanical completion dossiers and ICAPS inputs.
- Coordinate with Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, QA/QC and Commissioning teams.
- Liaise with EPC Contractor engineering teams and vendors on technical matters and outstanding actions.
- Promote project HSE requirements and support quality control activities.
Qualifications
- Engineering degree in Mechanical, Piping, Petroleum Engineering or equivalent.
- 10+ years of piping and valve engineering experience on major Oil & Gas projects, including LNG.
- Strong experience in piping design, layout, materials, valves, stress and vibration analysis, fabrication, welding, testing, FAT and construction methods.
- Experience with cryogenic valves and large-bore valve systems.
- Strong knowledge of P&IDs, isometrics, 3D models and site construction workflows.
- Experience working with EPC Contractors in construction and commissioning environments.
- Fluent English, written and spoken — mandatory.
- Portuguese or French is an advantage.
- Ability to work effectively in a remote, multicultural and highly regulated project environment.
- Willingness to work on a 28/28 rotation at Afungi Site, Northern Mozambique.
