Job Description

  • Ensure the technical and operational integration of rotating equipment throughout the FPSO project lifecycle.
  • Guarantee compliance of engineering solutions with company standards and client requirements.
  • Lead technical coordination between vendors, contractors, and internal project teams.
  • Drive reliability and performance optimization of rotating machinery.
  • Support commissioning and start-up phases in alignment with operational goals.
  • Supervise Detailed Design Reviews: Review and comment on engineering documents related to rotating equipment (e.g., pumps, compressors, turbines), ensuring alignment with project specifications and standards such as API, ISO, and ASME 
  • Manage Vendor Deliverables and FATs: Oversee vendor documentation, participate in Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs), and ensure timely resolution of technical queries and deviations 
  • Coordinate Interfaces Across Disciplines: Ensure proper interface management between rotating equipment and other disciplines (process, HVAC, electrical, safety), and across work packages 
  • Support Commissioning and Start-Up: Assist pre-commissioning and commissioning teams by validating installation, alignment, and readiness of rotating machinery for operational handover 
  • Monitor Equipment Preservation and Quality: Conduct inspections, verify preservation conditions, and review inspection test records (ITRs), punch lists, and non-conformance reports (NCRs) 
  • Participate in Technical Strategy and Supplier Evaluation: Engage in supplier qualification, emissions comparison, and total cost of ownership (TCO) evaluations for rotating machinery, including gas turbines and compressors 
  • Project Reporting and Progress Monitoring: Contribute to weekly progress reports, including updates on engineering status, procurement readiness, and manpower mobilization.
  • Schedule Drafting and Control: Assist in developing and updating schedules, monitor progress against key milestones.
  • Support Risk and Change Management: Participate in risk assessments, change control processes, and maintain alignment with project execution plans and contractual obligations

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in rotating equipment inspection or engineering, including at least 3 years on FPSO or similar oil & gas projects 
  • Proven involvement in detailed design, including review of engineering documents, vendor packages, and interface management
  • Experience with Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs), technical bid evaluations, and vendor coordination during engineering phase
  • Solid knowledge of API, ISO, ASME and other international standards
  • Ability to support technical audits, HAZOPs, and design reviews with multidisciplinary teams
  • Exposure to commissioning and pre-commissioning activities, including punch list clearance and system completion 
  • Fluent in English. French being a plus.
