Working within an international project environment, you will support project cost governance, budgeting, forecasting, and finance integration across multiple stakeholders including project management, finance teams, joint venture partners, contractors, and government entities.

Job Description

  • Support and deputize for the Cost Control Manager across all cost control activities.
  • Lead and coordinate a team of cost controllers responsible for Owner's Costs.
  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, cost reporting, commitment tracking, change management, and cash flow projections.
  • Consolidate monthly and Life-of-Project (LOP) cost reports.
  • Drive annual budget preparation and periodic budget updates.
  • Monitor cost risks and opportunities and support budget holders in mitigation planning.
  • Act as the primary interface between Cost Control and Finance functions.
  • Coordinate monthly accrual reviews, cash calls, intercompany reconciliations, and audit requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with Joint Venture accounting and cost recoverability requirements.
  • Support SAP cost control structure implementation, including WBS, cost centres, and allocation methodologies.
  • Lead cost control activities during internal and external audits.
  • Promote cost awareness and financial discipline across the project organisation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Engineering, Business, or a related discipline.
  • 10+ years' experience in cost control, project controls, finance, or cost engineering within major Oil & Gas projects.
  • Strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, cost reporting, change management, and project cost control methodologies.
  • Solid understanding of financial accounting within Joint Venture environments.
  • Advanced SAP user experience and strong Excel skills.
  • Experience working on large-scale capital projects and international stakeholder environments.
  • Proven leadership experience managing and developing teams.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Fluent English required; French and/or Portuguese would be advantageous.
