IOTA GROUP is recruiting an experienced Site Manager for a leading international engineering and construction group, to lead and coordinate diaphragm wall construction on a project in Navegantes, Brazil. The role involves full on-site execution, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, technical, and scheduling standards on a large-scale, complex infrastructure project.
Job Description
The Site Manager will be responsible for the full on-site execution of the works, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, technical, and scheduling requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Site Management & Coordination
Lead all on-site diaphragm wall construction activities.
Supervise crane operators (Liebherr 8130, Liebherr 875, Stein grab), excavation teams, and subcontractors.
Coordinate with surveyors to ensure accurate panel positioning, depth, and verticality.
Ensure proper sequencing of panel excavation, reinforcement cage installation, and concreting operations.
Liaise with client representatives and engineering teams.
Technical Supervision
Ensure compliance with project specifications and method statements.
Validate excavation tolerances (depth, alignment, verticality).
Monitor slurry management and trench stability.
Review daily reports and technical logs.
Support troubleshooting in case of geotechnical or mechanical issues.
HSE Management
Enforce strict compliance with safety regulations and environmental standards.
Conduct toolbox talks and safety briefings.
Ensure risk assessments and method statements are properly applied.
Promote a strong safety culture on site.
Planning & Reporting
Monitor daily progress and ensure alignment with the project schedule.
Coordinate equipment and workforce allocation.
Prepare daily and weekly progress reports.
Identify risks and propose mitigation measures to avoid delays.
Equipment & Logistics
Oversee proper use and maintenance of cranes and diaphragm wall equipment.
Coordinate logistics for materials, reinforcement cages, bentonite/slurry systems.
Ensure operational readiness of heavy machinery.
Qualifications
Experience
Minimum 8–10 years of experience in deep foundations.
Proven experience as Site Manager or Construction Manager on diaphragm wall projects.
Experience on large-scale infrastructure or geotechnical projects.
International experience is a strong asset.
Technical Skills
Strong knowledge of diaphragm wall construction techniques.
Solid understanding of geotechnical constraints and trench stability.
Ability to read and interpret structural and geotechnical drawings.
Familiarity with heavy lifting and crane operations.
Language
Fluent in English (mandatory).
Portuguese is a strong plus.
