Job Description
What We Are Looking For
IOMAXIS is seeking a Network Engineer with expertise in network design, architecture, and operations to work as part of a collaborative, multi-discipline team as a member of our Research and Development team. This is a full-time, position at one of our Austin, TX or Arlington, VA (Ballston neighborhood) office locations.
Technical Focus Areas
IOMAXIS primarily works with Cisco and Palo Alto networking hardware and security appliances; in addition to AWS and Azure cloud infrastructures. Proven experience with these commercial products is highly preferred, as these will be the primary focus for this position.
The Role
As a member of the Research and Development team, you will have a direct impact on network designs, feature improvements, and keeping our systems running efficiently. Specifically, this position will assist in network design, network monitoring, coordinating maintenance, evaluating hardware components, and responding to network connectivity issues and outages.
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science (CS), Computer Information Systems (CIS), Electrical Engineering (EE), or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
Minimal Qualifications:
+2 years of professional experience in a Network Engineering position or +4 years professional experience in a Network Administration position
Knowledge and experience with Cisco routing and switching
High proficiency with network architecture planning
A thorough understanding of VPN technologies, OSPF, EIGRP, and BGP
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Excellent analysis and critical thinking skills
Ability to work independently as well as within small and large groups
Thorough understanding of the fundamentals of network security
Preferred Qualifications:
Ability to navigate and configure Linux operating systems
Active industry relevant certifications (e.g., CCIE, CCNA)
Network monitoring system experience (e.g., PRTG)
Understanding of, and experience deploying Zero trust architectures
Experience deploying, configuring, and maintaining NextGen Firewall (e.g., Palo Alto) appliances
Required Clearance:
Clearance eligible
Active Secret level clearance preferred
