Job Description

This is an hourly position. We are seeking a Purchasing Clerk who will assist the branch personnel in planning, scheduling, purchasing, delivery and related activities by performing the following duties. As a Purchasing Coordinator, you will be responsible for:

  • Creating and evaluating routine and impromptu Purchase Orders/Requests for accuracy. Verifies correct vendor, price and account assignment
  • Coordinating with vendors to maintain knowledge on all product and delivery confirmations and changes 
  • Informing vendors of our purchasing requirements and ensure all tasks are fulfilled
  • Having basic knowledge of logistics and physical transportation of cargo as well as customs clearance procedures using a broker
  • Communicating and acting as a liaison between INX production plant personnel and the vendor
  • Running reports to identify late deliveries and follow-up with suppliers to resolve any delivery issues.
  • Assisting Accounts Payable for investigating blocked invoices, receiving issues and pricing discrepancies.
  • Creating and/or maintaining Info Records and Source Lists
  • Keeping meticulous records on all transactions

Qualifications

To perform your job as expected, you will be required to:

  • Have a high school diploma or GED equivalent
  • 6 months - 1 year of purchasing experience
  • Demonstrate an intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft Suite programs (MS Office) and other computer skills
  • Have experience with SAP
  • Be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
