Job Description
As financial manager for our local Korean based subsidiary, you will be a member of the global IMS finance team, with holistic responsibility for financial monitoring and reporting, account maintenance, and transactions analysis covering all company operations in Korea. This position will require strong international teamwork across time zones and may include occasional travel.
Responsibilities:
- Establish standards and processes to ensure integrity of accounting for the Korean entity, and compliance with Korean GAAP. This includes interpretation of latest accounting pronouncements and may include SOX requirements.
- Maintain journals for local accounts and prepare monthly/quarterly financial KR GAAP packages to feed into the global reporting process and manage related payments and cash flow.
- In collaboration with the global IMS finance team, perform coordinated account reconciliation and facilitate performance to the financial plan through, e.g., variance analysis and planning of receivables reserves.
- In collaboration with the global IMS finance team, execute the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, including audited annual financial statements and footnotes
- Support external audits, regular tax reporting and manage external stakeholders
- Preparation of annual budgets for the Korean entity
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics, or related discipline, paired with at least 8 years of practical experience, or 6+ years with a Master’s degree).
- CPA or equivalent certification, preferably with experience in public accounting of multi-national transactions, including statutory and/or legal entity accounting.
- Detailed knowledge of KR GAAP, and experience with practical application.
- Self-starter skills: Track record of prioritizing between multiple responsibilities, working independently through ambiguous problems in a structured manner, developing solution options and coordinating with stakeholders to drive projects to timely completion.
- Team player skills: Excellent written and oral communication in English, interpersonal skills to connect and exercise influence upwards and across organizations, intercultural competence, and service orientation.
- Working proficiency in information systems and tools for managing and analyzing financial data.
