Join iKhokha as a Store Manager based in Newcastle and take the reins of a high-energy branch, driving sales, developing your team and creating opportunities that make a real impact in your community.
So, what will you do?
- Responsible for managing the iKhokha Store.
- Drive Sales, activation ratio’s, implement and manage in-branch marketing activities, assist in staff route planning for outbound activities, create revenue-generating opportunities in line with iKhokha goals.
- Responsible for branch P&L’s.
- Represent and uphold the iKhokha brand and culture within the iKhokha branch.
- Evangelise iKhokha within the local community.
In addition to the above, you will:
- Accountable for the performance of the iKhokha Head Office store.
- Responsible for store P&L’s.
- Drive sales and deliver exceptional customer service.
- Responsible for maintaining relationships linked to stores.
- Interview, recruit, and train new staff.
- Implement Performance management processes to ensure that new staff thrive and targets are met.
- First level HR and IR skills.
- Monitor productivity of staff daily as per company requirement.
- Responsible for in-store stock management.
- Weekly stock takes and cycle counting.
- Maintain asset register of instore equipment.
- Maintain asset register of all branding materials.
- Basic understanding of POS systems for stock management.
- Report back to internal stakeholders weekly/monthly on store performance.
- Share ad hoc survey results with necessary internal stakeholders.
- Feedback on general in-store activity.
- Report in required market insights within the designated area.
Qualifications
- National Senior Certificate (Matric).
- Undergraduate Degree is advantageous.
Deal Breakers:
Minimum 3+ years of experience in a similar role with the following:
- Informal market retail and retail operations experience with a strong focus on growth.
- Understanding of informal markets and in-branch retail dynamics.
- Strong commercial skills and business acumen, with the ability to execute against sales, marketing and customer service targets.
- Proficient in MS Office.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to speak both English and Afrikaans, Xhosa is Optional.
- Basic understanding of key stakeholders within the designated Store Location.
- Sales Management against designated target.
- Valid driver’s license and own transport.
- Clear criminal and credit record.
In addition to the above, the experience in the following technologies, domains and best practices will make you a frontrunner for the role:
- Experience within Informal-market banking branch, cellular retail, FMCG or Alcohol industries is advantageous.
- Strong interpersonal and people management skills with proven ability to coach and energise direct reports in the branch environment.
