Job Description

About the role

IFS is looking for a Global Renewals Business Support Specialist to join the Global Renewals team and play a hands-on role in the operational execution of renewals, upgrades, and license conversions across our global install base.

This role sits at the commercial and operational heart of the renewals process — preparing the data packs, calculations, and contract inputs that enable the field to renew, upgrade, and expand customer contracts with accuracy and confidence. You will work closely with regional sales teams, providing the commercial intelligence and structured preparation that drives renewal outcomes.

We are looking for someone who is detail-oriented, commercially literate at the deal level, and takes genuine ownership of accuracy. If you understand how contract values are built, how indexation and residual asset values affect renewal pricing, and how to prepare materials that a sales team can act on immediately — we want to hear from you.

Duties and Accountabilities

1. Renewal and upgrade preparation

  • Prepare comprehensive data packs for renewals, upgrades, and license conversions — ensuring the field has accurate, timely inputs to execute
  • Calculate ACV for renewing and upgrading contracts, including partial-year pro-ration, multi-element deals, and incremental ACV on expansion
  • Apply indexation correctly to renewing contracts in line with agreed terms and applicable indices
  • Determine residual asset values for early renewals — understanding the commercial and contractual implications of bringing a renewal forward
  • Ensure all renewal preparation is completed well in advance of contract expiry to give field teams sufficient time to engage

2. Contract and commercial terms

  • Understand and apply standard IFS contract commercial terms — including pricing structures, uplift mechanisms, discount frameworks, and renewal conditions
  • Identify and flag commercial anomalies, non-standard terms, or pricing inconsistencies in renewing contracts before they reach the field
  • Support the preparation of residual contract asset valuations

3. Data quality and CRM

  • Maintain data accuracy across renewal records — current installation details, contract asset values, pricing, and discount structures
  • Identify and ensure the regions resolve data discrepancies between source systems and CRM before they affect field reporting or execution
  • Support ongoing data quality improvements by flagging patterns of error or inconsistency to the team

4. Reporting and stakeholder support

  • Respond to ad hoc data and analysis requests from regional teams and leadership in support of deal execution
  • Collaborate with sales, finance, and customer success teams to ensure a complete and consistent view of each renewing account

Capabilities

  • Exceptional attention to detail — accuracy in calculation and data is non-negotiable; errors in contract values have direct commercial consequences
  • Strong commercial numeracy — comfortable working with contract values, pricing structures, percentage uplifts, and multi-currency calculations
  • Proactive ownership — manages their own workload against the renewal calendar without prompting; flags issues early with a proposed resolution
  • Methodical and structured — works through complex data consistently and documents work so that others can pick it up
  • Effective under sustained time pressure — the renewal calendar does not move; deadlines are real
  • Clear communicator — able to present data and findings concisely to sales teams and regional stakeholders
  • Curiosity and willingness to learn — renewal mechanics, licensing structures, and commercial terms are learnable; the right attitude matters as much as prior experience

Qualifications

Required

  • Experience in a business operations, sales operations, renewals, or commercial support role
  • Strong Excel skills — confident with calculations, lookups, and structured data; able to build and maintain workbooks others can use
  • Understanding of contract commercial terms and pricing structures — including uplift, indexation, discounting, and multi-element deal mechanics
  • Working knowledge of ACV, net new revenue, churn, and renewal rate concepts
  • Experience working with CRM systems and maintaining accurate opportunity and contract data
  • Organised and methodical approach to high-volume, deadline-driven work
  • Professional fluency in English

Preferred

  • Experience with IFS applications, IFS Cloud, or a comparable enterprise software environment
  • Familiarity with residual asset value calculations and early renewal commercial structures
  • Exposure to software licensing models including subscription and perpetual license mechanics
  • Experience with Power BI or equivalent reporting tools
  • Additional language capability is an advantage

Additional Information

Your background will be:

  • A similar role in a large software or technology organization in the given geography.
  • Appreciation of and ability to work within a matrix environment
  • Have previously designed, built and improved business processes
