Job Description
A Project Director – Consulting Delivery at IFS is responsible for the successful conclusion of the assigned projects by providing leadership, strategically managing risk, monitoring project finances, and making sure that the project deliverables are met according to scope, schedule and budget. A Project Director builds relationships at the right level within the customer organization, provides thought leadership, and ensures that we deliver the intended value on time, to scope and budget, and with the right quality, resulting in great customer adoption and high customer satisfaction.
This role is responsible for overseeing the delivery for multiple consulting delivery projects or programs. He or she is overseeing multiple delivery teams. The Project Director is responsible for monitoring and reporting on the high-level scope of the software solution and creating consensus around the solution delivery efforts to solve our customers' business problems while being aligned to project scope and commitments.
A Project Director is an evangelist who inspires Project teams, colleagues, customers, and partners both internally and externally to collaboratively deliver on customer commitments. A Project Director – Consulting Delivery maintains relationships across all aspects of the Consulting Delivery, Support and R&D teams to help overcome project delivery blockers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure the Consulting Delivery team is adhering to prescribed implementation methodologies and course correct teams as warranted to position the team to a successful deployment outcome.
- Provide leadership, advice, guidance, and coaching to the project manager and broader project team.
- Ensure disciplined project governance and performance metrics (KPIs) are being measured and met.
- Ensure GCD contribute towards a predictable and profitable business for IFS.
- Reviews and provides progress reports and makes staffing, financial, and other adjustments to the assigned projects to ensure a successful outcome.
- Provide thought and inspirational leadership to the team and relevant practice to assigned customer engagements.
- Coordination, sequencing, and prioritization within the set scope, as well as ensuring consulting delivery efforts by the Project team is on track.
- Initial Management point of escalation for assigned customer projects to key stakeholders wtihin IFS or for the assigned customers.
- Establish a trusted advisor relationship with the Delivery teams and help drive continued value for our customers.
- Seek out and drive the pursuit of expanded solution deployment opportunities to contribute towards a predictable and profitable Consulting Delivery business for IFS.
- Identify/escalate/mitigate risks that affect effective delivery execution within the practice; works together with relevant management to mitigate such risks.
- Remain familiar and up to date with all aspects of the Services portfolio and be able to communicate this effectively (both internally and externally)
- Assist with the estimation and scope validation of new business opportunities as warranted.
- Good understanding of our target industries (Utilities and Energy) and domain product/technology offerings as well as the business application processes for our target customers.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience including both Management and Customer facing roles.
- University degree, or equivalent professional qualifications, in a field relevant for the functional area of responsibility.
- Must be able to demonstrate commercial awareness.
- A result orientated individual with a track-record of high-performance management of teams.
- Used to presenting, leading, and inspiring people.
- Must be very competent at making strategic decisions and prioritizing evolving Project delivery needs and challenges in a timely and effective manner.
- Maintain a positive can-do approach to resource conflicts and escalations.
- Must have a track record of developing (hiring, coaching, performance managing) individuals and building and mentoring successful teams.
- Good C-Level communication (both internal and external)
- Drive disciplines, quality and consistency of performance and process through the assigned projects.
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced, decentralized, geographically and culturally diverse teams.
- Self-driven and proactive in nature.
- Able to prioritize and make decisions with a strong sense of ownership.
- Experience in agile development and enterprise software delivery methodologies.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Comfortable working across multiple functions and geographical locations in a deadline driven environment.
- Open to travelling as required.
