Job Description

In the capacity of a Software Engineer within the Aerospace & Defense Industry vertical in Unified Support, you will become an integral member of our Support team located in Sri Lanka. Our work ethos revolves around the harmonious coexistence of diligent effort and an enjoyable work atmosphere.

We are currently seeking a skilled Software Engineer with a focus on Unified Support, someone who possesses a flair for innovation and a fervor for delivering unparalleled user experiences to our clientele. Our team is dedicated to extending support to clients in the aerospace industry. Collaborating closely with experts from our clients' domains, we tackle intricate challenges related to software, hardware, and business processes, leveraging our cutting-edge aviation maintenance enterprise software.

The ideal candidate is expected to demonstrate expertise in their domain, maintain a continuous learning mindset, and exhibit the ability to engage in constructive discussions and collaborative problem-solving with other proficient professionals. Our group of specialists consistently receives praise from clients for thought leadership, responsiveness, and our comprehensive solutions. 

In this role, you will have well-defined routine responsibilities along with the opportunity to engage in spontaneous tasks as they arise.

Key responsibilities encompass, but are not restricted to:

  • Providing assistance to a diverse global client base
  • Exercising autonomous judgment to rectify issues within mission-critical software
  • Taking charge of triage and analysis of client-raised concerns through our online support portal
  • Methodically scrutinizing data and code to troubleshoot intricate defects in customer products
  • Participating in seamless transitioning of clients from other departments into the support function
  • Facilitating cohesive product support across multiple departments
  • Maintaining records of customer issues and tasks undertaken
  • Engaging in collaboration with our local Research & Development team to resolve intricate challenges

It's important to note that this role may require engagement in a globally distributed team operating on a 24/7 roster-based schedule.

Qualifications

  • A degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or Information Technology or a similar qualification
  • Demonstrated expertise in Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and Scripting
  • Effective problem-solving aptitude and strong communication abilities
  • Prior practical experience with Enterprise-grade software is a clear asset
  • The following are value add skills, if available:
    • Knowledge in Oracle Database and/ or Oracle PL/SQL
    • Working knowledge of ERP systems
    • Usage of IT Service Management (ITSM) tools in a support service environment
    • Azure service administration and operations
    • Windows Server MCP or Red Hat groups of qualifications
    • Microsoft Azure, AWS or GCP certifications
