As a Systems engineer for Microsoft and Symantec security and server management tools, you will be responsible securing IT environment by identifying critical patches, evaluating options, build and deploy security patches, continuous follow-ups and produce executive level reports. In addition to this, you will also responsible Building Server OS and Software packages using Symantec IT management suite (Altiris). You are expected be thorough in supporting these these products.

Responsibilities

• Develop, Deliver and Support Patch management using WSUS & Altiris (Symantec IT management suite)
• Automate Software, Server OS deployment and Software patch management using Altiris which includes building Server OS and Software packages to be deployed on windows server environment
• Provide Technical Tier 3 support for all Defender ATP(EDR), Symantec AC and Defender AC solution
• Generate Executive summery Reports about patch status using Power BI
• Generate Inventory and integrating CI inventory with ServiceNow
• Create documentation and standard operating procedures for all management tools (WSUS, Altiris, Symantec AV and Defender AV)
• Proactively identify potential issues with critical vulnerabilities and execute immediate mitigation plans (critical patching)
• Collaborate with IT and SOC teams to deliver new solutions, mitigate software vulnerabilities or enhance existing security solutions
• Act as an escalation point for assigned technologies, providing support to other engineering and operations team members.
• Understand industry trends and provide input on infrastructure lifecycle and what’s next for the responsible security tools.
• Participate in major incident reviews, assisting in the identification of root cause and remediation needed to permanently restore service.
• Work parallelly with support and on-going technology projects as assigned
• Provide afterhours support as needed for critical systems (Ex: Maintenance & Escalations) and collaborate with Team members in different time zones.
• Flexibility to work with a global team in multiple time zones when needed during team meetings and technical workshops
• Assists with other duties as directed by management and achieve goals set to be align with organizational goals

Be punctual and provide timely status updates for the work task assignments to team lead/Director

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Good experience in following technologies

• Altiris – Symantec IT Management suite
• Scripting and building Altiris deployment packages
• Symantec AV products
• Microsoft Defender ATP
• Microsoft Windows Server (2012, 2016, 2019)
• On-prem and Azure AD
• Group Policy
• Intune and Microsoft Endpoint Manager tool

Experience in Cyber Security and how it related to supporting technologies

Optional/Preferred Qualifications

1. Building Reports using Power BI
2. Demonstrated high level analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to identify new opportunities and technical methods to solve business problems.
3. Certification of Microsoft technologies and Symantec
4. Phishing awareness tools and attack simulator

Experience in IT Service Management tools like ServiceNow
