Job Description
The Business Development Team Leader will report to the regional Marketing VP and will be responsible for ensuring consistency of approach and process across the North American BDR team. The BDTL will work closely with the Sales teams and BDRs to optimize the success of Opportunities the team generates to hand over.
The BDTL will also be responsible for its own prospecting target [50% of 2023] and will provide key outbound prospecting and lead development for IFS in North America. The candidate must be knowledgeable in Service Management, Asset Management, and ERP Applications as they relate to targeted prospects and customer needs. The candidate must be able to exhibit the knowledge and confidence needed to establish IFS as a potential prospect and be able to coach others to do so.
Team Leader responsibilities:
- Organize and run daily morning team scrums to drive focused activity and motivate the team, review the previous day’s activities, and agree on priorities
- Arrange regular weekly 1:1 meetings to discuss performance and current workload within each team member
- Provide weekly reports in a consistent format with insights and recommendations
- Monitor the progress and quality of the team’s output, facilitate in solving problems and giving advice;
- Ensuring consistent CRM hygiene with recording of activities and data enrichment at the contact and Business level
Individual contributor responsibilities:
- engage in conversations of value given the research and understanding of the prospect and IFS.
- Create opportunities within prospects by illustrating areas for improvement, optimization or automation. Work with the pre-sales and BVE teams to underpin these opportunities with business cases
- Utilize Pre-Call Planning methods to understand the Prospect and why IFS is a viable solution for them.
- Develop cold Businesses into warm and targeted Businesses through various efforts providing value while aggressively targeting Businesses within specific Industries that IFS has identified.
- Work alongside Sales Representatives to set meetings and penetrate targeted Businesses.
- Work through ‘Gatekeepers’ gaining access to the relevant person/s in the prospective organization hierarchy while understanding where the decision makers are located.
- Understand the functional competitive advantages of the IFS solution set and customize messaging to gain traction in Businesses.
- Conversion of Key Targeted Businesses to the sales pipeline and develop opportunities that IFS can continue to build a relationship.
- Implementation of Business Based Marketing campaigns, based on Business plans built in conjunction with sales, pre-sales, and marketing
- High level of communication, via outbound calling, email, and social media to engage prospects in order to further qualify as a valid sales opportunity.
- Maintain a relationship with an assigned group of Target Businesses and develop value in working with IFS.
- Ability to ask open-ended questions to uncover needs, learn more about the prospect, and better qualify.
- Keep accurate electronic records of calls and contacts and update prospect status within the contact management application.
- Communicate internally the status of all outreach and set meetings.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of proven software telemarketing, inside sales, or software sales experience
- Self-starter and ability to work with minimal supervision
- Able to quickly gain and demonstrate a high level of understanding of IFS and IFS Application benefits
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with specific emphasis on telephone skills. Fluency in English and French
- Experience with contact management applications, Excel, and Word
