Job Description
Arcadis Building Structural Group is looking for a licensed Structural Engineer (P.Eng.) to join our Toronto structural office. You will be engaged in structural design of buildings, industrial plants, and transit facilities. You will also work on construction administration as project needs. The candidate’s previous experience working on underground and above grade transit facilities (subway, LRT stations) will be an asset.

Role accountabilities:
- Partner with structural design team to achieve project successful delivery.
- Coordinate structural design and construction with other disciplines.
- Liaise with external stakeholders and clients.
- Carry out structural modeling, analysis, and design. Prepare and review structural reports and drawings.
- Work closely with BIM staff to prepare drawings.
- Review construction submittals, constructability and staging drawings, construction schedule and cost estimate.
- Coordinate engineering and commercial items with the construction team.
- Conduct site visits during construction to review work for general compliance to structural drawings and contract documents. Identify possible construction structural deficiencies, provide remedial options.
Qualifications
Qualifications and Experience:
- Registered P.Eng with PEO, license in other provinces or US states will be an asset.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering / Structural Engineering
- 4+ years of experience in structural engineering with a focus on buildings and heavy civil underground structures.
- Proven experience with complete design of projects including analysis, design, detailing, and construction administration for complex projects.
- In-depth knowledge of building codes including NBCC, OBC and CSA standards.
- Proficient in structural analysis software including SAP, ETABS, SAFE, RAM-Structural, S-Concrete, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), and Acrobat/Bluebeam (redlines/comments).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to prepare reports and correspondence independently.
- A valid driver's license and able to travel to project site to conduct site review.
- Ability to confidently relate with all levels of staff and clientele - Internal and External
- Excellent work ethic and desire to succeed
- Effective communication in the English language (verbal and written)
