Job Description
- Full Time (40 hrs pw, Monday to Friday)
- Permanent
- Based in Dantzic / NOMA in Manchester City centre with a hybrid model around Remote / Studio working
Position Summary:
IBI Group are seeking a talented Landscape Architect to further our landscape presence in our multi-disciplinary Manchester Studio. We have an award-winning portfolio of public urban realm work and our team understands the importance of creating good streets, spaces and places for people to live and work in.
We’ll need you to have a passion for good design, an enthusiasm to find creative solutions and a desire to push boundaries. You’ll play an active role in all aspects of the continued success of our team and work on a variety of projects across all sectors within IBI Group. We currently have exciting design led portfolio of work within the Education, Healthcare, Residential sectors, Town Centre Master-planning and high-profile quality public realm projects for local authorities. An experience of international work (but not at the expense of UK projects) would be an advantage.
Ideally, you’ll have c1 to 3 years post-graduation experience, be looking towards gaining your Landscape Institute Chartership or have recently become Chartered. Duties and Responsibilities:
- Contribute to UK (and perhaps international) Landscaping and Urban Design projects
- Carry out Hard and Soft Landscape Design from the scale of Regional Master Planning through to site specific construction detailing
- Liaise with internal IBI Architects and other disciplines - working across all IBI business sectors, providing expertise to internal teams and external clients across the UK
- Interact with clients through meetings and presentations, attendance at networking events and seminars etc
- Produce technical drawing using hand drawn techniques and a range of digital software
- Write reports for input into Design and Access Statements, RIBA Stage reports.
- Experience undertaking and preparing Landscape and Visual Impact Assessments is desirable but not essential.
- Support with planning, business development and related tasks
Qualifications
Skills & Qualifications:
- Appropriate Technical degree(s) in Landscape Architecture
- Relevant work experience in a multi-disciplinary environment with specific personal responsibility for Landscape projects and a passion for good design
- Competence with AutoCAD and Adobe Suite is essential, and knowledge of Sketchup, Revit or similar 3D programmes would be warmly received
- You’ll be an excellent team player with the ability to work collaboratively across disciplines to deliver projects of the highest quality
- Personal motivation and the ability to work under own initiative
- Have experience of high-quality drawn outputs from concept design to construction level detailing
- A good knowledge and experience of planting design
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Recent and up to date UK experience is essential
- Experience of taking projects from inception to completion
- Confidence in a client facing role along with the ability to manage and co-ordinate with others and deliver creative written and drawn outputs to a high standard whilst meeting deadlines
- Advanced design / presentation skills and technical competence in the software noted above
- Proficient report writing skills and the ability to verbally communicate ideas and designs
