IBI Group is at the forefront of solar energy generation project development, With a growing focus on renewable energy, we work in both the natural gas and renewable electricity generation sectors, supported by battery storage technologies  and collaborate with both producers and consumers of electricity to maximize economics as well as to plan and manage projects, ensuring project success.  

IBI Group’s Energy Solutions Practice Area is growing and needs a Project Engineer (Energy Solutions) for a number of existing and future projects in the exciting renewable energy field. This position represents an opportunity to utilize strong analytical and project management skills and grow with the industry.

Most of the things you’ll work on:

• Lead acquisition of required information for solar, gas, or wind generation feasibility studies and project development
• Design and output modeling of solar generation projects using PV SYST
• Process design, including energy balances, process flow diagrams with a specialized focus on: 
  • District Energy Exchange,
  • Natural Gas Engines, 
  • Natural Gas Processing,
  • Combined Heat and Power Projects
• Economic analysis of grid- connected energy projects including:
  • Energy Content
  • Carbon Dioxide Equivalent Values
  • Tariff Costs and Benefits 
  • Project Schedule, Resource and Cost Management
• High Level Design of solar generation plants, including:
  • DC systems
  • Inverters
  • Electrical Protection Systems,
  • Medium Voltage Systems,
  • Grid Integration,
  • Racking Systems, etc.
  • Project Schedule, Resource and Cost Management
• Detailed design of portions of solar generation plants that match your interests, discipline and experience
• Lead and manage information flow to clients, IBI teams, and IBI systems. Including report writing and business proposal writing
   

You'll need to have:

• Engineering Degree/Engineering Technology Diploma
• PMP or similar Project Management Certification would be an asset.  
• Experience in managing construction projects in the $5 to $250 million range would be an asset
• Experience in managing interconnections to  or electricalor pipeline  grids would be an asset.
• Experience with electrical generation projects is an asset

Due to COVID 19, we have implemented a work from home model until we return to the office.
