This is not just another venue. Located at 125 St Georges Terrace, One Two Five will be a space for serious business and standout hospitality, complete with a rooftop terrace, sports lounge, premium interiors, and all the amenities modern professionals expect - including cafés, gyms, childcare, and more - all steps from your desk.
As the Conference & Events Operations Manager, you’ll oversee the café, conferencing, and event operations, ensuring every booking is executed flawlessly. From rostering and payroll to leading your team on the floor during events, this role blends operations with people leadership and customer impact.
What your day-to-day will look like (but not limited to!):
- Lead the daily operations of the café and conferencing/event spaces, ensuring readiness, standards, and service excellence.
- Manage and support a high-performing team, including rostering, training, and on-the-floor leadership.
- Oversee event delivery from setup to pack-down - ensuring AV/IT, catering, and room configurations are spot on.
- Act as the on-site lead for event clients and guests, solving issues with professionalism and warmth.
- Partner with internal teams to review event briefs, prepare spaces, and gather feedback post-event.
- Monitor and manage payroll, staffing hours, and performance in line with policy and service expectations.
- Champion a culture of hospitality, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
We're Looking For Someone Who:
- Has 3+ years' experience in hospitality or conferencing/events leadership, ideally in high-touch environments.
- Thrives on the floor - leading by example during live events and peak service periods.
- Brings proven skills in rostering, payroll support, and team development.
- Has a working knowledge of AV/IT setups, facilities coordination, and event logistics.
- Communicates confidently and clearly with clients, guests, and internal teams.
- Has a keen eye for detail and a passion for hospitality-led experiences.
- Brings a proactive, solutions-focused mindset to everything they do.
