Job Description
As an entry level Civil Technician, we will train you for the day-to-day activities to include:
- Review project specifications and confers with Civil Engineers regarding plan preparation, acceptance testing, design changes, evaluation of field conditions, and reports
- Drive a company vehicle to construction civil engineering job sites and document civil engineering construction activities into a daily log.
- Communicate with construction contractors and the project manager regarding the construction activities.
- Observe construction site operations to determine conformance with design plan and material specifications.
- Assist Engineers and Senior Designers with project design, construction plan development while working in engineering related software such as Topo Dot – Micro Station, AutoCAD Civil3D and ArcGIS.
- Operate electronic survey instruments such as GPS and Total Station.
- Collect topographic survey data using survey instruments.
- Assist Civil Engineer in setting construction stakes for construction projects.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Construction Management, GIS, Land Surveying or other equivalent experience preferred.
- General knowledge of construction
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D (preferred).
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans, blueprints and maps.
- Able to work extended periods of time in outdoor conditions.
- Above average math and communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license and availability for travel.
