Job Description

The House of Commons Parliamentary Precinct Operations is currently looking to staff the Print and Mail Production Coordinator position. 

In this role, you will be responsible for guiding print and mailing projects from request to delivery. Acting as the main point of contact between clients, internal production teams, and external suppliers, you ensure that all jobs are designed and planned correctly, meet House of Commons guidelines and bylaws, and are completed on time and within budget.  

On a typical day, you will review new requests, clarify needs and advise Members of Parliament and their staff on printing and mailing requirements. You will schedule and coordinate in-house print and mail production to ensure smooth workflows, perform pre-flight check on electronic files to ensure they are print-ready and meet technical standards, and troubleshoot issues, answering client questions and providing status updates throughout the production process.

Qualifications

Education : 

  • Certification in production control, project management and planning from a recognized graphic communications and technical institute OR an acceptable combination of education, training and relevant work experience. 

Experience : 

  • A minimum of two (2) years' experience in a client service-related field; 
  • Experience and/or knowledge in graphic design; 
  • Experience in effectively and accurately advising clients on technical issues and providing interpretations pertaining to printing and mailing services; 
  • Experience in scheduling, monitoring, coordinating and prioritizing work. 

Assets : 

  • Experience with publishing software such as Adobe InDesign, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Publisher and Canva; 
  • Experience in producing reports and presentations;  
  • Experience working with Canada Post Corporation Service Standards.
