Job Description

Position Summary

The Broker Direct Specialist is responsible for proactively contacting approved mortgage brokers and loan officers to generate new lending opportunities, re-engage inactive relationships, and drive loan submissions. The role supports the existing sales organization by creating meaningful conversations, identifying viable loan opportunities, and completing warm handoffs to the Account Executive who owns the protected broker relationship.

This is a high-activity outbound sales position focused on relationship activation, lead development, and opportunity generation. The company will provide calling lists, targeted campaigns, and sales scripts based on the product or program being promoted.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Make 50-75 outbound calls per day to approved mortgage brokers and loan officers assigned through company-provided lead lists.
  • Use the approved sales script for the product, program, or campaign being targeted.
  • Engage loan officers in meaningful live conversations to identify interest, lending needs, and potential loan scenarios.
  • Generate qualified opportunities and complete warm handoffs to the Account Executive assigned to the protected broker account.
  • Ensure the ongoing broker and loan officer relationship is transitioned back to the protected Account Executive.
  • Educate loan officers on company products, programs, technology, and value proposition.
  • Meet established minimum talk-time expectations.
  • Document every call, conversation, follow-up, and handoff accurately and promptly in the company CRM.
  • Manage follow-up activities and maintain an organized pipeline of prospects and opportunities.
  • Collaborate with Account Executives and sales leadership to support a seamless customer experience and effective opportunity transfer.
  • Participate in product training, sales coaching, team meetings, and ongoing professional development.

Key Performance Indicators

Specific performance targets will be established by sales leadership. Performance will be measured using activity, engagement, and production results, including:

  • Outbound calls completed
  • Live conversations with loan officers
  • Minimum talk time
  • CRM documentation compliance
  • New loan officers signed up per month
  • Qualified handoffs to existing Account Executives
  • Loan submissions generated
  • Funded loans generated from Broker Direct activity

Qualifications

Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Comfort with high-volume outbound calling and working toward measurable goals.
  • Strong organization, follow-up, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to learn mortgage products, sales concepts, and company systems.
  • Basic computer skills and the ability to maintain accurate CRM records.
  • Positive attitude, persistence, professionalism, and willingness to accept coaching.

Preferred

  • Prior call center, telemarketing, customer service, or inside sales experience.
  • Mortgage, lending, or financial services experience. Mortgage experience is helpful but not required.
  • Experience working in a performance-driven sales environment.

Work Environment and Schedule

  • In-office position, five days per week.
  • Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.
  • 30-minute lunch.
  • Regular and reliable in-office attendance is required.
