Care Professional – Home Instead Mid Cornwall

£13.25 per hour + PAID travel time + mileage | Guaranteed hours

At Home Instead Mid Cornwall, we do care differently. We provide relationship-led, unhurried care that helps older people live well in their own homes — and we structure our roles so care professionals are properly supported and fairly paid.

We support clients in Bodmin and surrounding towns and villages. 

What you’ll do

• Personal care (washing, dressing, support with routines)

• Preparing meals

• Safe medication support

• Companionship, conversation and reassurance

This is not rushed care — visits are meaningful and relationship-focused.

Pay & standout benefits

• £13.25 per hour

• Guaranteed minimum-hours contracts after training

• Paid travel allowance between short gaps in visits

  • Typically worth around 10% extra paid time

  • Travel time is not taken out of your hourly rate

• Mileage paid at 45p per mile after the first 10 miles each day

👉 This means you’re paid for more of your working day, not just the time inside a client’s home.

Typical earnings

• 24 hours/week (guaranteed) ≈ £1,383 per month

• 30 hours/week ≈ £1,729 per month

Hours & working pattern

• 15–30+ hours per week, depending on availability

• Busiest times: 8:00–11:30am and 4:45–8:15pm

• Every other weekend, shared fairly across the team

• Maximum availability: 4 weekdays + alternate weekends

Training & support

• Full, paid training provided (no experience required)

• Ongoing support from a friendly, local office team

• Thoughtful scheduling to reduce unnecessary travel
