Pavilion Entertainment a new media company incorporated in Trinidad and Tobago. It is dedicated to the original production of media projects and the regional distribution of both original and franchise programming.

Job Description

The Assistant Make-up Artist will be involved in the set-up and maintenance of the make-up workstations. Primary duties and responsibilities will be to:

• Keep workstations clean and tidy, cleaning and laying out brushes and products for the day ahead

• Monitor and maintain product levels 

• Assist with the purchase of supplies

• Apply make up for extras and may also apply special effects make-up, such as grazes, cuts and bruises

• Maintain continuity, working from continuity notes and overseen by senior staff

• Touch-up make-up between takes, and update continuity notes using photographs

Qualifications

Key qualifications and competencies include:

• Certification in Cosmetology or at least 2 years’ experience in theatre, fashion or commercials

• Basic make-up skills including: straight corrective; glamour/fashion and period make-up; character make-up; assisting in ageing faces, and body parts; death make-up; and some special effects make-up, including lacerations, bruising, burns, bullet wounds, skin diseases; tattoos and body-painting; dressing and applying facial and other false hair

• Familiarity with both period make-up and contemporary looks

• Knowledge of the anatomy of the human skull and facial muscle structure   

• Ability to accept direction and constructive criticism

• Willingness to cope with working long hours in pressurised, often cramped environments

• Physical fitness to cope with many hours standing or bending over Actors

• Keen eye for detail to oversee continuity

• Excellent organisational skills

• Working knowledge of relevant Health and Safety laws and procedures
