Pavilion Entertainment a new media company incorporated in Trinidad and Tobago. It is dedicated to the original production of media projects and the regional distribution of both original and franchise programming.

Job Description

The Assistant Hairdresser will be involved in the basic setup and maintenance of hair workstations. Primary duties and responsibilities will be to:

• Keep workstations clean and tidy, preparing brushes and products for the day ahead

• Ensure that product levels are maintained

• Assist with the purchase of supplies and moving the hair kit between trucks or locations

• Assist with washing performers' hair, helping to alter, repair and dress wigs and toupees, and washing and setting wigs and hairpieces

• Prepare Actors' hair and scalp in advance, noting any allergies or sensitivities to report them to appropriately qualified personnel

• Wash, blow-dry, style and set hair, apply hair products, and use specialised techniques to create the necessary look for continuity

• Assist in maintaining the continuity of characters during the shoot, standing by to touch-up, comb and spray hair, and adjust wigs and toupees between takes


Qualifications

Key qualifications and competencies include:

• Certification/ license in Cosmetology or at least 4 years’ related experience

• Strong hairdressing skills including: cutting, waving, straightening, colouring, perming, setting, applying extensions, braiding, shaving

• Familiarity with period hairstyles and contemporary looks

• Experience in altering, setting, dressing, and applying wigs and hairpieces

• Keen eye for detail to assist with continuity

• Ability to accept direction and constructive criticism

• Physical fitness to cope with many hours of standing or bending over Actors

• Flexibility and creative problem solving skills

• Some foreign language skills for foreign shoots preferable

• Knowledge of relevant Health and Safety laws and procedures, especially when dealing with different substances, materials, and scalp reactions.
