Job Description

A Floor Manager ensures that a programme or production goes according to plan and that everyone involved in the programme —presenters, camera crew, guests and audience — knows what they have to do and when they have to do it.

Duties include: Ensuring that sets, props and technical equipment are safe, ready to use and in the right position prior to filming; liaising with the producer and director and relaying instructions between the control room and studio staff; dealing with technical problems and any last minute changes.

Qualifications

Key skills: Ability to work well under stress; excellent interpersonal skills; a sense of timing and continuity; a broad understanding of television requirements.
