Job Description

Role Overview: As a Clinical Exercise Physiologist, you play a vital role in evaluating and improving the health of patients through exercise. You'll work with individuals across various health spectrums, from those at risk to those with chronic diseases, to implement behavior change techniques and promote healthy lifestyles. Your expertise will directly impact patient outcomes in cardiac, pulmonary, and other specialized rehabilitation programs.

What You Will Do:

  • Administer exercise stress tests and supervise clinic-based exercise training programs for patients with chronic diseases.
  • Provide physical activity consultation and counseling in weight management and bariatric care services.
  • Obtain medical histories, review medications, and assess symptoms and vital signs during rest and exercise.
  • Interpret ECGs and make point-of-care assessments to ensure patient safety and progress.
  • Communicate with physicians and other healthcare providers to coordinate patient care.
  • Deliver innovative and specialized care to diverse populations, including the elderly, frail adults, children, and those with intellectual disabilities.

Qualifications

What You Will Need:

  • Bachelor's or graduate degree in exercise science/physiology or related field.
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for the healthcare provider.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required within 1 year of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a clinical exercise setting.
  • American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) Clinical Exercise Physiologist (ACSM-CEP) certification.
