About the Department

As part of Henry Ford Health's Community Care Services, the Home Infusion Pharmacy team plays a vital role in expanding access to care by delivering essential pharmacy services directly to patients in their homes. This department focuses on providing specialized infusion therapies, ensuring patients receive the necessary treatments with convenience and compassion. By bridging the gap between hospital and home, our team makes a meaningful impact on diverse populations, enhancing their quality of life through personalized care and support.

Role Overview

As a Pharmacy Technician in our Home Infusion Pharmacy, you will prepare pharmacy orders, including sterile compounding, under the supervision of a Registered Pharmacist. You¿ll assist with patient care coordination, clinical monitoring, and documentation, ensuring seamless support for patients receiving home infusion therapies. Your role is critical in maintaining high standards of safety and efficiency in medication delivery.

What You Will Do

  • Prepare pharmacy orders, including filling and sterile compounding, following physician prescriptions and USP 797 standards.
  • Assist pharmacists with patient care coordination, clinical monitoring, and documentation.
  • Support inventory management, stocking, and storage of supplies.
  • Maintain environmental controls and collect compliance data.
  • Interact and communicate professionally with patients, caregivers, and healthcare providers.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
  • Minimum of six (6) months of hospital or home infusion pharmacy experience with emphasis on compounding/aseptic technique.
  • State of Michigan Pharmacy Technician license.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of IV access devices and required ancillary supplies.
  • Advanced computer knowledge.
