Contingent Scheduling Requirements

• Must be able to work two (2) 8-hour shifts within each 2-week scheduling period.

Nurse Extern Start Date and Orientation Requirements:

• Start Date:  December 14, 2026
• To ensure the best onboarding experience, participants are expected to be available for the full orientation week, Monday through Friday. 
• Orientation will take place at New Center One in Detroit.

• Assist in providing direct patient care to meet safety and comfort needs under RN supervision.
• Participate in the nursing process by offering input to help plan and implement patient care.
• Respond to emergent situations according to established protocols.

What You Will Need

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent OR currently enrolled in the Henry Ford Health Early College Program with completion of two clinical rotations.
• Enrolled in an accredited school of nursing with completion of two clinical rotations, including one in Med/Surg (acute care setting).
• Current Health Care Provider Certification.
