  • Schedule: 40 hours per week, Midnight Shift, 11:00pm - 7:30am, Rotating weekends and holidays

About the Department: Located in the scenic setting of Grand Blanc, Genesys Health System is a cornerstone of healthcare in the region, offering a blend of small-city charm and advanced medical services. Our Central Processing Department (CPD) plays a critical role in ensuring the Operating Room (OR) is equipped with sterile, ready-to-use instruments and supplies. The team prides itself on precision, efficiency, and collaboration, supporting surgeons, nurses, and technicians in delivering exceptional patient care.

Role Overview: As a CPD Technician-Certified, you¿ll be the backbone of surgical preparedness, coordinating instruments and supplies for surgeries and serving as the primary contact for OR personnel. Your expertise ensures seamless operations, from instrument sterilization to emergency requests, directly impacting patient safety and surgical success.

What You Will Do:

  • Ensure complete case carts and correct loaner trays for surgeries, guaranteeing on-time case starts.
  • Act as the CPD-to-OR liaison, maintaining communication and resolving issues related to instruments and supplies.
  • Wash, reassemble, and rewrap instruments and equipment for sterilization, ensuring compliance with sanitary standards.
  • Operate sterilization equipment and manage inventory, including ordering and storage of supplies.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, adhering to department policies and procedures.

Qualifications

What You Will Need:

Required Qualifications:

  • Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) from IAHCSMM or Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) from CBSPD.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to lift at least 50 pounds and perform physical tasks throughout the day.
  • Proficiency in English, both written and verbal, with strong communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certificate from an accredited sterile processing program.
  • Two years of relevant experience in surgical instrumentation.
