Role Overview

As an Ultrasound Technologist, you will specialize in performing diagnostic ultrasound procedures under the direction of a Radiologist, aiding in the evaluation of pathological entities as prescribed by physicians. Your expertise ensures accurate imaging, proper patient positioning, and adherence to safety protocols, directly supporting patient care and diagnostic accuracy.

What You Will Do

• Perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures to aid in the evaluation of pathological entities.
• Utilize independent judgment to determine appropriate imaging techniques and patient positioning.
• Adhere to department protocols and safety practices during procedures.
• Maintain required hours of continued medical education to stay current with industry standards.

What You Will Need

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Registered with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or eligible to sit for ARDMS examinations.
• If eligible, successful completion of SPI, Abdomen, and OB/GYN ARDMS examinations within 12 months of hire.
• Healthcare Provider certification (BCLS).

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in diagnostic medical sonography.
• Familiarity with Henry Ford Health¿s imaging protocols and systems.
