About the Department
Join our System Ambulatory Operations team at One Ford Place, our corporate headquarters in Detroit's New Center. Located steps from Amtrak, the QLINE, and the Fisher Buildings, this vibrant area offers a blend of downtown energy and convenience. Our team is dedicated to enhancing operational efficiency across Henry Ford Health, focusing on patient access and scheduling optimization. We collaborate with various departments, including Virtual Care, MyChart, and Analytics, to ensure seamless and patient-friendly processes.
Role Overview
As an Access Optimization Consultant, you will lead and facilitate access improvement initiatives, including core system scheduling algorithm design. You¿ll serve as a subject matter expert in scheduling build and patient access, collaborating with stakeholders to develop system-wide policies. Your work will directly impact patient experience, operational efficiency, and cost reduction across Henry Ford Health¿s ambulatory operations.

What You Will Do
- Lead and collaborate on access improvement efforts, including scheduling algorithm design.
- Develop and update system scheduling design policies with stakeholder teams.
- Implement system standards to enhance accuracy and efficiency in patient access channels.
- Integrate scheduling build into patient portals to support digital scheduling initiatives.
- Apply improvement methodologies (e.g., lean six sigma, agile) to address process inefficiencies.
- Work with cross-functional teams to ensure consistent, patient-friendly processes.
Qualifications
What You Will Need
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., business, engineering, healthcare administration).
- Four (4) years of relevant experience in healthcare, data analysis, project management, or related fields.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and problem-solving approaches.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of SQL, Power BI, and MS Visio.
- Experience with quality/operations improvement in healthcare or related fields.
