Role Overview

As a Medical Assistant, you play a vital role in providing quality and compassionate care to patients. You will support providers and nursing leadership by performing a variety of administrative and clinical tasks, ensuring a seamless patient experience from the moment they arrive to the completion of their visit.

What You Will Do

• Greet and escort patients to the exam room, creating a welcoming environment.
• Obtain and record accurate medical histories and vital signs.
• Prepare patients for examinations and procedures, ensuring their comfort and readiness.
• Assist providers during examinations and procedures, providing necessary support.
• Perform administrative tasks to ensure efficient clinic operations.

What You Will Need

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.

• Additional Requirements:

  Graduate of a Medical Assistant program with completion of a formal clinical externship (160 hour minimum). OR

  Graduate from a Medical Assistant program without completion of a clinical externship but with a minimum one-year experience in clinical medical assisting within the past five (5) years. OR

  Current Professionally Recognized Medical Assistant Certification with a minimum of five (5) years of experience in clinical medical assisting. OR Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). OR

  Licensed Paramedic/Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) with at least one-year clinical experience in clinical medical setting within the past five (5) years. OR

  Military trained medical personnel with at least one-year clinical experience in clinical medical setting within the past five (5) years.

  Graduate of a Medical Assistant program with completion of a formal clinical externship (160-hour minimum), or equivalent experience as outlined in the job description.
• Current BLS-C certification upon hire or successful completion by the end of orientation.

Preferred Qualifications

• Basic computer knowledge and keyboarding skills.
• EPIC (Electronic Medical Record) experience.
