Job Description

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Join our Environmental Services team and be the backbone of our Henry Ford Health System locations! Working under the guidance of our Environmental Services Management Team, you'll keep our facilities sparkling clean, safe, and welcoming for patients, staff, and visitors. You'll master the art of equipment care, stretch your supply budget like a pro, and take pride in maintaining the pristine, orderly spaces that help our healthcare mission thrive.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Keep assigned work areas immaculate and fully serviced—making sure every corner reflects our commitment to excellence and patient care
  • Perform a dynamic mix of custodial and support duties across multiple Henry Ford Health System locations, maintaining sanitary and orderly conditions that inspire confidence
  • Take ownership of assigned equipment, ensuring it's well-maintained, properly stored, and ready to perform at its best
  • Champion smart, economical use of supplies—proving that great results don't require waste
  • Collaborate with the Environmental Services Management Team to exceed cleanliness standards and contribute to a safe, healthy environment for all

Qualifications

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalent preferred. 
  • Custodial experience preferred. 
  • Physical ability to lift, push, pull and/or squat a minimum of 50 pounds, able to stand and walk 90% of work period and able to walk stairs and negotiate uneven surfaces
