Job Description

Cardiovascular ICU is a 13-bed unit that focuses on the advanced care of cardiology and cardiothoracic surgical patients who have experienced procedural and post-surgical intervention. This unit requires a strong knowledge base of hemodynamic monitoring, vasoactive pressor support, invasive cardiac and lung assistive devices and the beginning steps of rehabilitating a cardiac patient. We also manage the care of ECMO patients who require extensive support for cardiac and/or lung disease/trauma. 

Lead the charge in delivering exceptional, compassionate patient care that makes a real difference! You'll be the coordinator and champion of quality care, using your nursing expertise to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient needs. Delegate and supervise care with confidence, document like a pro, and empower patients and families with the knowledge they need to thrive.

Keep the communication flowing—you'll be the vital link between patients, families, and the entire healthcare team, ensuring everyone's on the same page. When things don't go according to plan, you'll jump into problem-solving mode, identify creative solutions, and champion their implementation to get patients back on track toward their goals.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality compassionate patient care.
  • Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, to provide, delegate, supervise and document care and teaching of patients and family.
  • Effectively communicates pertinent patient/family information to health care team.
  • Participates in finding solutions for variances from patient goals and ensures implementation of solutions. 

SCHEDULE: (3) - 12 Hour Shifts, 7pm - 730am, every other weekend and rotating holidays

SIGN ON BONUS: $7500.00

LOCATION: Henry Ford Providence Southfield Hospital

Qualifications

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • BSN preferred. Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to formulate effective nursing care plans.
  • Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and hospital personnel. 

CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE REQUIRED:

  • Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing.
  • Health care provider certification (BCLS).

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Prefer one year of critical care experience, ICU or ER
