Job Description

As a Radiation Therapist at Henry Ford Health, you will have the opportunity to work with state-of-the-art technology in Radiation Oncology at the Brownstown location. GENERAL SUMMARY:
Under general supervision administers radiation treatments to patients, as prescribed by the physician, utilizing specialized equipment including

·Linear accelerator,

·High Dose Rate (HDR) After loader,

·Computed Tomography.

Qualifications

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred. 

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:

  • A.R.R.T. Radiation Therapy Technology Certification or registry eligible
  • Must meet or exceed core customer service responsibilities, standards and behaviors as outlined in the HFHS’ Customer Service Policy

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Normal office environment with minimal exposure to noise, dust, or extreme temperatures.
  • Lifting of patients, moving & pushing wheelchairs / stretchers and lifting of equipment, above head, up to 50lbs.
  • Potential exposure to radiation; however, adherence to safety procedures minimizes likelihood of danger.
  • Frequent interaction with emotionally depressed and terminally/critically ill patients.
