Job Description

*** $5,000 Sign-On Bonus ***

Location: Henry Ford Detroit

Department: Electrophysiology

Schedule: 40hrs, Day Shift

GENERAL SUMMARY:

  • The Cardiac Cath Lab Tech I works as a member of the Cardiovascular Lab (CCL) team of medical professionals.
  • Under the direct supervision, is responsible for assisting physicians during diagnostic and interventional procedures by performing Scrub or Monitor functions.
  • Responsible for the operation and maintenance of equipment and supplies in the CCL.
  • Responsible for patient safety in the CCL and must be able to recognize cardiac arrhythmias and respond according to emergency protocols, operate external cardiac pacemaker and defibrillator.

Qualifications

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
  • Graduate of an accredited program in Allied Health Sciences (e.g. Cardiovascular Technology, Radiologic Technology, Respiratory Therapy, Exercise Science, or Cardiac or Vascular Sonography, or equivalent academic program and experience.)
  • Minimum of one (1) year clinical experience preferably in Cath Lab or in Radiology and/or registry eligible.

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:

  • Valid BCLS certification required/ACLS certification required within six (6) months of hire.
  • Licensure or Certification in degree field preferred.
  • Interpersonal and communication skills necessary in order to develop and maintain a wide variety of cooperative working relationships and convey information clearly and consistently through verbal and written medium.
  • Analytical ability necessary in order to determine best method of providing requested test based on the specifics of each individual case.
