Job Description
GENERAL SUMMARY:
Ready to be the backbone of our food service operation? As a Food Service Assistant, you'll work alongside our department leadership team to keep our patients, employees, and visitors well-fed and happy! You'll wear multiple hats—from whipping up delicious meals to managing the cash register, coordinating dietary needs, keeping our inventory in check, and ensuring our dish room runs like a well-oiled machine. Every day brings variety, purpose, and the satisfaction of knowing you're making someone's day better, one meal at a time.
Your Day-to-Day Impact:
- Prepare and serve meals that nourish and delight our patients, employees, and visitors
- Master the cashier station and handle transactions with accuracy and a smile
- Support our diet office by managing dietary requirements and special meal requests
- Keep our inventory and supplies organized and well-stocked so we never miss a beat
- Lead the charge in the dish room to maintain cleanliness and efficiency
- Jump in on additional tasks as needed to support the team's success
Qualifications
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- High School Diploma, GED, or six (6) months to one (1) year of previous work experience in a food service or cash handling setting preferred.
- Able to read, write, speak English, and follow oral and written instructions.
- Personal computer and data entry skills, preferred.
- Experience as a dishwasher or experience working in an assisted living facility, waitress, and cashiering strongly preferred.
