Job Description

GENERAL SUMMARY: Under general supervision follow standard operating procedures for all patient price estimating activities from general public inquiries and internal resources within Henry Ford Health (HFH). Types of estimating will include price shopping in comparison to competing health systems, North American patients, international patient price estimates, retail price estimates, cutting edge price estimates, US self-pay patients, and insured patients for the covered amount contractually allowed. Actively contributes to an organizational culture committed to the highest degree of service excellence standards to all customer groups.

Qualifications

**EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:**

  • Associate degree in healthcare, business, or equivalent preferred
  • Two (2) years of medical coding experience preferred
  • Experience with medical billing and reimbursement preferred
  • Healthcare customer-facing environment experience preferred

**REQUIRED SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:**

  • Proficiency with HFH EHR and Microsoft Excel
  • Strong mathematical and analytical abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including telephone and interpersonal communication
  • Ability to work with detailed information and perform calculations accurately
  • Ability to discuss patient financial responsibilities and coordinate with the Corporate Business Office
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to policy and procedure changes
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions
  • Strong team collaboration and interpersonal skills
  • Successful completion of yearly competencies required

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED: Current coding certification from AHIMA or AAPC required. CCS credential or CPC credential.
