Job Description
Anticipated Contract End Date/Length: December 31, 2026
Work set up: Hybrid - 1 day per week in office
Our client in the financial services industry is seeking a Product Designer with strong expertise in design systems and proven experience applying AI tools within real-world design workflows. This role will support the ongoing evolution of an enterprise design system, while also exploring and shaping how AI can enhance both design and development processes—particularly across Figma, migration tooling initiatives, accessibility improvements, and rapid prototyping.
This is a hands-on delivery role that involves close collaboration with product designers, engineers, and design system teams. The successful candidate will contribute to the creation and maintenance of reusable UI components, while piloting AI-enabled workflows to improve speed, quality, and consistency across the platform.
What you will do:
- Design and document reusable UI elements, interaction patterns, and accessibility standards.
- Maintain and evolve Figma libraries to ensure clarity, consistency, and usability.
- Support the development of design tokens.
- Partner with product designers, engineers, and product managers to understand requirements and ensure system scalability across workflows.
- Participate in design reviews and contribute to shared decision-making on system updates.
- Provide guidance to product teams on adopting and utilising the design system effectively.
- Create clear and accessible documentation for components, patterns, and AI-enabled workflows.
- Support teams by answering questions, sharing best practices, and providing practical examples.
- Communicate updates and improvements to the wider design community.
- Maintain high standards for design quality and accessibility across all system assets.
- Ensure UI components are implemented with consistency, performance, and fidelity in mind.
- Contribute to Figma libraries and documentation with precision and clarity.
- Use feedback and performance metrics to identify opportunities for AI-driven improvements.
- Stay informed on industry trends and introduce innovative approaches to scaling design systems.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in UX or Product Design, with at least 3 years focused on design systems within enterprise environments.
- Deep expertise in Figma, including component architecture, design tokens, and multi-theme systems.
- Strong understanding of accessibility standards including WCAG and inclusive design practices.
- Proven experience collaborating with engineering teams to implement design systems at scale, with awareness of technical constraints and opportunities.
- Strong communication and storytelling skills with the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders.
- Demonstrated portfolio showcasing design system strategy, execution, and measurable impact.
- Experience driving adoption of design systems across large organisations is highly desirable.
- Experience in financial services or similarly complex domains is a plus.
