Job Description

Are you passionate about empowering and inspiring young people? Join our organisation as a Divisional Youth Manager in Ngatea (Hauraki Plains division), New Zealand, and play a pivotal role in shaping the lives of our youth through engaging and transformative programmes.

  • Provide professional, friendly, and enthusiastic leadership, direction, and support to Youth Leaders and members within our Ngatea Youth division
  • Collaborate with the team to ensure the delivery of high-quality programmes that enhance personal development and identify the potential in individuals
  • Ensure the leadership team has access to required resources and support
  • Assist with administration tasks, including developing newsletters, consent forms, and other documentation
  • Promote attendance at courses, meetings, training workshops, and facilitate the sharing of information within the division
  • Encourage participation in competitions, events, community services, recreational activities, and involvement with other divisions at district and regional levels
  • Design and implement suitable, relevant, and fun-filled activities in line with organisational policies, ensuring a safe and inclusive environment for all participants
  • Support the development and implementation of youth succession planning strategies
  • Motivate and inspire young people, fostering their growth and instilling a sense of empowerment

Qualifications

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities
  • Strong organisational, planning, and time-keeping skills
  • Proven aptitude for working with diverse demographic groups (age, culture, background)
  • An active team player with a keen interest in working with young people
  • Natural talent for thinking and working creatively/outside the box
  • Proficient in using computers and having access to the internet and email
  • Leadership and management experience, preferably in a youth development setting
  • Knowledge of youth development programmes and activities
  • Ability to motivate and inspire young people
  • Passion for working with youth and making a positive impact
  • Flexibility to contribute a minimum of two hours per week and attend overnight camps from time to time
  • Familiarity with the Ngatea community and its youth (desirable)
  • Willingness to travel within the region as needed
