Job Description

He aha te tūranga - About the role: 

 As a Finance Transformation Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in advancing the transformation programme of work within the finance directorate at Hato Hone St John. This is a fixed term contract until June 30th 2026.

  • Support the Head of Finance Operations & Improvement by taking charge of key transformation initiatives and projects, driving the successful delivery of change processes within the finance transformation program.
  • Partner with stakeholders across the organization to assess existing processes, identify gaps, and gather business requirements. Develop and implement effective solutions to address these gaps and enhance overall efficiency.
  • Identify and propose initiatives aimed at optimising finance systems and processes, ensuring the adoption of industry best practices. Work closely with the finance systems team to implement system-related enhancements that improve functionality and streamline operations.
  • Prepare, present, and support detailed evaluations, proposals, and recommendations to senior leadership. Provide oversight and maintain accountability for project tracking, reporting, and communication.
  • Lead the continuous improvement of training materials and knowledge management resources for the finance function. Facilitate smooth transitions during process changes and foster an environment of ongoing learning for both the finance team and internal stakeholders.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement by actively identifying areas for innovation, streamlining processes, and promoting the adoption of new technologies and methodologies within the finance team.

Are you looking for an opportunity to bring your expertise to a truly purposeful organisation?  Success will require the following:

  • A deep understanding of financial operations. CAANZ/CPA qualification is a strong advantage.
  • Proven experience in finance transformation, process improvement, or project management within a financial context.
  • Hands-on experience leading and managing the implementation of change initiatives.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills, plus ability to simplify complexity to assist in the understanding of others from a range of disciplines and backgrounds.
  • Proactive problem-solver with exceptional organizational and planning skills.
