Job Description
The Fundraising team have an exciting opportunity for a confident, competent, multi-disciplined and multi-tasking administrator to join the team. The role will provide end-to-end administrative support for the St John National Gifts in Wills programme and the South Island Fundraising team and will report to the Gifts in Wills Manager. The role will:
- Support for all projects and programmes within the portfolio and the fundraising team
- Assist in managing the gift in Will inbox, always ensuring respectful, timely, and thoughtful communication.
- Prepare and update templates, and resources, including presentations and general correspondence.
- Assists with annual and monthly monitoring, pipeline updating, planning, and regular reporting.
- Undertake all delegated fundraising administration tasks promptly.
- Accurate record keeping and data integrity within CRM
- Receipt of all leads and enquiries about gifts in Will and funeral donations and providing appropriate information or response
- Supports the fundraising team through a wide range of promotional and retention activities, including strategic donor stewardship and supporter events delivery.
- Complete travel bookings, invoicing, and other PO requests, including updating the team calendar.
- Deliver other fundraising support duties as required
- Liaising with other St John teams and Area Committees as may be required from time to time with effective administration and customer service
- Work effectively with the wider fundraising team, and other internal stakeholders as needed, always adhering to agreed processes and protocols.
Qualifications
We welcome and will consider transferable skills and experience gained from outside of work e.g., cultural, community work, sports, volunteering, or a comparable role in a different sector or industry.
- Previous experience in fundraising or working with a charity and a sound understanding of fundraising principles and donor stewardship is an advantage but not a requirement.
- High level of customer focus and a professional attitude as well as the commitment/ability to maintain the absolute confidentiality of information.
- A team player who is flexible, adaptable, able to work autonomously and willing to assist other staff members.
- Ability to apply critical thinking with a focus on solving problems and attention to details
- Able to build exceptional one-one-on-one relationships and confident in doing phone calls
- Experience in general administration, organised in the monitoring of tasks and activities.
- Excellent computer competency (Microsoft Office, MS Excel, CRM/donor management systems)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
