- Employment status: Full-Time
Company Description

We combine our creative design expertise with capabilities in strategy, research, technology and experience design, and we regularly collaborate with experts and partners from further afield.
Through our work, we're trying to build a more inclusive, sustainable future for communities - and create a more socially and ecologically resilient world.
Job Description
We’re looking for a Business Development & Engagement Marketing Manager to lead how we connect with clients, industries and markets across our international studios. Based in Hong Kong, you’ll work alongside leaders across Asia, the United Kingdom and the Middle East, helping position Hassell at the centre of the conversations that matter.
This isn’t a traditional marketing role.
It’s an opportunity to influence how one of the world’s leading design practices builds relationships, shares ideas and creates opportunities across multiple regions.
What you’ll do
You’ll develop and lead a coordinated client engagement strategy that strengthens relationships well beyond individual pursuits.
Working closely with our sector leaders, business development teams and marketing specialists, you’ll:
- Build meaningful client engagement programs across our international studios.
- Shape thought leadership that opens doors and starts conversations.
- Identify the industry events, partnerships and organisations that matter most.
- Align marketing activity with strategic business priorities and major pursuits.
- Bring together teams across Asia, the UK and the Middle East to share insights and opportunities.
- Lead and mentor our Shanghai-based marketing team member.
- Help embed a truly client-first approach across our international business.
- Drive client feedback (voice of the client)
You’ll be equally comfortable developing strategy, facilitating conversations with senior leaders and rolling up your sleeves to deliver outstanding work.
Qualifications
About you
You’ll likely bring experience from architecture, design, engineering, property or another professional services environment where relationships and reputation drive growth.
You’ll also have:
- Experience in business development and/or marketing within Hong Kong or the wider Asian market.
- Strong commercial thinking and the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
- A passion for creating engaging client experiences and thought leadership.
- Experience working across different cultures, regions and time zones.
- Outstanding communication and relationship-building skills.
- The confidence to balance strategic thinking with hands-on delivery.
Experience working with teams in the United Kingdom or Middle East would be highly regarded, but isn’t essential.
You’ll have the opportunity to:
- Influence business growth across multiple international markets.
- Work directly with senior leaders and sector experts.
- Help shape the conversations that define our future.
- Collaborate with talented colleagues across Asia, Australia, Europe and the Middle East.
- Build a career in a genuinely global design practice where ideas travel across borders.
