Job Description

He angituutanga: The opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a Team Leader – Live Events, someone who can guide our team, build strong relationships, and help shape unforgettable experiences across Hamilton’s premier venues.

Day to day you will be:

Lead a High-Impact Event Team - Coach, support, and empower a superstar team by aligning work to capability and experience, and ensure consistent, high‑quality delivery across a complex portfolio of major events. You’ll work closely with the Event Delivery Manager to set clear expectations and role‑model what great looks like.

Build Awesome Client Relationships - You’ll be the friendly face for promoters, organisers, and H3 partners, helping to shape event goals, build strong relationships, and keep everyone in the loop. You’ll team up with Business Development and Marketing to bring events to life, create great content, and keep communication flowing smoothly. And when tricky challenges pop up, you’ll jump in as the first point of escalation, solving issues quickly and confidently.

Plan Events People Remember - From budgets and production to floorplans, catering, security, and suppliers, you’ll be across every detail. You’ll also keep everything safe, compliant, and ready for whatever unexpected twists live events throw at you.

Own the Ticketing - You’ll lead ticket builds, pricing strategies, on-sale activity, and seating maps in collaboration with H3 ticketing and clients, plus keep a close eye on sales and help boost audience reach. After the show, you’ll oversee ticketing settlements to wrap things up neatly.

Run the Show On the Day - Overseeing all stages of event execution, set up, front and back of house, briefings, staffing, crowd movement, safety, parking, and more, even stepping into the Control Room solo when needed and making confident decisions in high-pressure moments.

Keep Us Organised and On Track - You’ll handle purchase orders, financial reconciliation, and tidy, accurate record keeping in Momentus.

Drive Collaboration & Continuous Improvement - Working across teams, you'll break down silos, solve problems, and always look for ways to do things smarter, smoother, and better.

Reflect and Review - After each event, you’ll gather feedback, report on what went well (and what didn’t), and feed those learnings into future events so we’re always raising the bar.

If you’re excited about shaping unforgettable experiences, leading a talented team, and being part of Hamilton’s growing event space, we’d love to hear from you.
